Bottoms’ up recipe: Spicy Hot Cocoa for Grown Up Carolers
Time to go caroling. I don’t know about you. But where I live, its cold. We like to serve hot cocoa to the carolers, and we know, from long experience that a shot of whiskey warms us right up. This is sugar free, spicy, and delicious.
Spicy Hot Cocoa , spiked and sugar-free
for Grown Ups
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup light cream
1 packet stevia
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
Pinch five-spice powder
1 shot bourbon or rye (optional)
cinnamon stick
In a small saucepan over medium, heat the milk and cream until hot but not boiling. Whisk in the sweetener, cocoa powder, ginger and five-spice powder. Add whiskey if desired. Whisk until completely smooth. Serve with a cinnamon stick stuck in for fun.
