The confusion over fats, particularly saturated fats, has seeped into every corner of our culture.
Entire medical careers have been made on the notion that saturated fats would lead to heart attacks.
On top of that, the notion that cholesterol was associated with cardiovascular disease and obesity, led many well-meaning people to avoid eggs altogether.
But the facts about natural fats are quite different.
We have come to accept the health benefits of certain mono saturated fats, such as olive oil, which are liquid at room temperature.
But the marketing campaign for fake foods such as margarine have been so successful that many people still avoid butter, thinking it’s unhealthy.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Our bodies need all types of fat for optimum health. We need polyunsaturated and mono saturated fats, but also saturated fats.
Studies reveal a distinct connection between low fat diets over a number of years and serious degenerative conditions including Alzheimer’s and other so-called diseases of aging.
But stay on your Silver Cloud, eat your steaks, and butter, and fatty fish. Your weight will normalize, your brain function will improve, and you will increase your chances for a long and healthy life.
Yours in good health,
